Why it is Important to Brand Yourself and Not Your Business?

It is imperative that when entering or starting a new business/program that you do not focus on promoting the actual program, but rather learn how to brand yourself. This principle is especially true when it comes to internet marketing. When someone promotes, and markets their business you only give the prospect the opportunity to join that program, and not the ability to have a relationship with you the sponsor.

For example lets says that for some reason you left the program that you initially started and marketed or that company just so happens to go out of business, now all your downline knows is the business and how to market that business. Now lets say you find another program that you would like to share with your previous downline, the odd of them joining you would be very slim! All you would be able to offer them is the hopes that this program would be much better than the other one. You never want to put your faith in the program, but rather in your ability to succeed, lead, mentor,bring great results, but also the fact that people can then relate to you, and feel comfortable with you.

The goal should always be to build relationships and not a bank account. Building these kind of business relationships will last forever, and your team will always want to follow you in any and all ventures that you may go to. So now one might ask how do I market myself? Well you start off by telling people who you are, what your frustrations were before seeking your new opportunity and, just invite them into your everyday life. Tell on yourself, make people feel as if you are real person, and not someone just after their money. Exude to your prospects how you can help them prosper, learn new techniques so that they can see you do know what your talking about, people want leaders that another hyped program!
